I made this petition because I am truly disgusted with the environmental destruction humans are causing and the ONLY thing I can personally do is try to promote change. Please take a minute…

Hi everyone, please take the time to look into (and sign if you wish) this petition meant for the legalization of hemp. It can be used for a wide variety of things, and isn’t harmful to the environment in any way. And no, it can’t get you high.

I thought hemp was legal for industrial use?

http://www.votehemp.com/2014_farm_bill_section_7606.html The Legitimacy of Hemp Research act has been approved which allows for particular projects of research by the govt. it is still not legal for industrial use and hasn’t been grown in the US since 1957. We can import products like jewelry and rope but we haven’t begun growing our own for commercial use

If you support pleaseeee show it, sign and reblog guys, we’re over 225 signatures!

It literally takes 30 seconds! GO SIGN IT!

homoish asked: Hi! I was wondering if you could explain to me some more about the petition? Like explain exactly what it's about and what I would be signing. I can get many great blogs to reblog it and a lot of signatures- if it's something worth helping. :)

Absolutely! In the late 1800s hemp was outlawed because of political pressure by major oil companies (DuPont in particular) because of it’s incredible potential to drive petroleum oil out of the industry in replacement for hemp oil. The government complied and lumped hemp in with marijuana drug laws, even though hemp isn’t a drug it is a cousin plant with levels of THC that could never get anyone high. It’s unfortunately been treated one in the same ever since. Hemp can be used for a fuel that burns NO greenhouse gases, for biodegradable plastics, cement that’s stronger than steel, paper that lasts 100x longer than paper made from bark, clothing and nutrition. I discussed more on these points in the petition. Overall this plant NEEDS to be legalized especially for fuel and biodegradable plastic, I would LOVE if you had any questions just ask!!

scythedelic asked: "Legalization Of Industrial Hemp": 983 Letters and Emails Sent So Far. This can be found on petition2congress. I recommend digging through the internet for a while and supporting an existing petition. Better to join together than create another division.

I appreciate you letting me know about this petition! I signed this one as well. I understand your advice, but after looking through many petitions I decided I wanted to write one on my own. This particular petition has a few misnomers in it and I wanted to have my own references and wording, also on a different website. Petition2congress is cool bc you send emails to the people per signature, but change.org has over 70 million people and I’ve found that I’ve gotten almost a third of the signatures in a short amount of time, while that petition has been running for about two years. Let me know if you have any questions or advice because it’s appreciated.

Glich

sporaqic, my ask limit is up right now but there are 250 supporters right now, your computer must have gliched. I have looked for other petitions similar to mine but there are none on Change.org which is the specific website I wanted to use because there are over 70 million people using it. Getting 1,000x what I already had will be difficult but I truly feel it is one of the most important causes to bring change underway and it is a cause that everyone should be concerned about! let me know if you have any questions.

egwood asked: Hey there! I'm Emily from Rhode Island and I have a petition going online right now to support legalizing hemp especially for clean fuel and biodegradable plastics and other awesome things! These laws will help clean the world, so anyone from any country can sign! If you wanna check it out to sign or reblog and be part of the change it's the latest post on my blog always!! :) I would appreciate the support so much, it's a super important topic!

communitycann:

Our support isn’t just for legalizing the recreational use of marijuana, but also for the legalization of hemp cultivation in the United States. Hemp has so many utilitarian uses not to mention how great it is for the environment. While it is legal to obtain hemp products in the US it is still illegal to grow it in the majority of the country. I’ll reblog the petition post shortly so it’s easier for you all to find!
